It’s located in Murphy, North Carolina, and opened in September 2015. It’s a sister property to the flagship Harrah’s Cherokee Resort about an hour’s drive to the west. It’s about a two and a half hour drive from downtown Atlanta, or about two hours from Chattanooga. The casino is smaller than Harrah’s Cherokee Resort – it’s only about 60,000 square feet. However, it’s still got plenty of slots and an array of table games to let you try your luck. If you’re staying awhile, the hotel has 300 rooms for your to recharge the gaming batteries. Dining options range from casual and budget friendly options up to its featured restaurant, The Landing Cafe, with a slightly more elegant menu.

Table games at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River include lots of blackjack, roulette, and craps tables available for a variety of betting minimums. Generally, there’s going to be a lot of $25 minimum tables at peak times, like Friday and Saturday nights. If that’s too rich for your blood, you can find cheaper tables on weekdays and other slow times.
