The new Hard Rock Casino in Bristol, Virginia has only just opened, but it’s definitely hit the ground running.  While the fully finished resort and casino isn’t expected to be ready until 2024, Hard Rock has already hit some impressive goals in its first few months.

The casino’s activity is monitored by the Virginia Lottery, Hard Rock Bristol has managed to produce over $11 million in revenue in July.  That’s the amount the casino has earned after accounting for winnings paid out to players.  Out of that, almost all of it has come from the slots – over $10 million.  That’s not really a huge surprise.  First off, slots are always the big earners for casinos.  Second, the Hard Rock Bristol just opened, so a lot of the space for table games and other stuff hasn’t been built out yet.  Apparently there’s a big demand for gambling out in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia!

On the hiring front, Hard Rock Bristol has been just as busy.  Allie Evangelista, President of the Bristol Casino: Future Home of Hard Rock said:

“We have been training team members for a long time, we have a good group of team members currently on site that have been with us since day one. We are past the 600 team members on duty already.”

There’s still a lot of job openings at Hard Rock Bristol, especially in the security and food and beverage areas.  Interesting in applying?  Click here for the positions available.  We still saw a lot of openings for the casino floor, too, including Dealers (and training is offered), Bankers and Cashiers, and Casino Floor Service Reps.

The Hard Rock in Bristol is shaping up to be a nice getaway option for those in the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area.  It’s a 3.5 to 4-hour drive from there.  If you live in the Charlotte area, it’s only about 3 hours away.  That’s not as close to Charlotte as the Kings Mountain Casino that just opened in 2021, or the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, which just celebrated its 25th birthday.  Still, it’s nice to have options!
