Rivers Casino in Portsmouth, Virginia Opens January 23
The all-new Rivers Casino in Portsmouth, Virginia will have its grand opening on January 23, 2023. The $340 million project is finally nearing completion after years of construction. The casino is near Tidewater Community College, just off Interstate 264 near Victory Boulevard.
This is a full-fledged casino with 1,448 slot machines, 57 table games, and a 24-table poker room. Table game options include favorites such as Blackjack, Three-Card Poker and Baccarat. There’s action at Roulette and Craps tables, too.
There’s also a fully loaded sportsbook with space to watch all the action, and place some bets to make your viewing just a little more exciting. Your dining options will consist of 10 restaurants and bars throughout the resort. Live events from big music acts all over will be booked for the brand new 25,000 square-foot convention center. While Rivers Casino won’t have a hotel on-site, it’s partnered with local properties to give you a place to stay. The Glass Light Hotel in downtown Norfolk and the Renaissance Hotel on the waterfront are both listed as options on the casino website.
